On Saturday 22 September, 71 Fenchurch Street, the home of Lloyd's Register and the Lloyd's Register Foundation participated in Open House London 2018. For one day only, the doors of the Collcutt and Rogers buildings were opened to the public.
Visitors to Fenchurch Street were able to see the rooms of the historic Collcutt building, first opened in December 1901, from the Old Reception Hall to the General Committee Room. The modern Rogers building, completed in 2000 was also open, allowing the public to walkthrough the Courtyard, Main Reception and Main Atrium.
Highlights from this year's event include the 'Layers Below' exhibition, a specially designed children's trail and interactive displays across the site.
Despite the horrid weather, 2,228 people visited 71 Fenchurch Street. The day also raised over £360 for the RNLI through donations from visitors.
The Heritage & Education Team would like to thank all those that attended, as well as the internal support teams that made this event possible.
